Staff from the home transport the young people to school each morning and attend a briefing meeting with school based staff to communicate relevant information. This process is then repeated at the end of the school day when teaching staff complete a verbal handover to staff from the home. This helps to ensure a continuity of care and education and is a key factor in promoting the 24 hour curriculum.
Beyond these direct school links, Witherslack Care & Education Initiatives operates a supplementary educational programme. Activities and tasks are designed to provide an interface between education and social care providing an holistic learning environment where young people can develop to their full potential.
