A comprehensive Social Development Profile is used to assess a hierarchical range of social, communication and life skills in a way that allows young people to identify and celebrate success.
These competences are assessed three times each year by staff and the young person. These results inform care planning and assist in identifying targets for the young person’s Individual Care and Education Plan. The ICEP is constructed in consultation with the young person and is facilitated by named key workers. The Social Development Profile provides an internal measure of individual progress and attainment and where appropriate, can lead to accreditation in areas of key skills development including: communication, application to number, problem solving, working with others and improving own learning/performance.
